Here's the suspenseful trailer for Sound of My Voice, the second movie from actress and writer Brit Marling, who last year launched her indie star with the redemptive spacey drama, Another Earth. The film, set to release April 27, is directed by newcomer Zal Batmanglij.

Peter (Christopher Denham) and Lorna (Nicole Vicius) are the documentary filmmakers who, as a couple, will go to whatever lengths they have to to Get. That. Story. And in this case, that story centers around Maggie, the ethereal and breathy cult leader (played by the real life ethereal and breathy Marling) claiming to be from the future. But a cult is a cult is a cult, and apparently they are a group not so easy to hang around without feeling a little contact high. Peter and Lorna find themselves no different from the other lost souls so easily yanked into her orbit, and they are forced to come to terms with their own uncertainties about themselves and each other. "The anchor is the sign of the traveler," Maggie tells them softly. What a foreshadowing spook she is.

Though perhaps a little too close to last year's dreamy, mind-bendy cult flick Marcy Martha May Marlene, Sound looks like it does a good job of being both of those things without going overboard. Well, with the exception of that cheese cloth draped over her face. That's a little overboard. But I'm into it, are you?
