LBJ School of 'Pubic' Affairs Apologizes After Unfortunate Typo Goes PublicS

The Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at UT Austin was left "mortified" by a typo on the cover of its 2012 commencement program that turned "public" into "pubic." Compounding the schadenfreude was a tweet sent out by the school apologizing for the "eggregious" typo (since removed).

The school sent an email to students informing them that the typo has been corrected, and the revised programs are being printed and will be distributed to students. "No one feels worse about this than I do," wrote Dean Robert Hutchings in the email, "so please accept my deepest personal apology."

The school's Assistant Dean for Communications Susan Binford told Romenesko she fears the typo will end up on The Daily Show, so that's probably going to happen now.
