Officials in Thailand are hot and bothered over yesterday's broadcast of Thailand's Got Talent, which featured a topless woman rubbing paint on a canvas with her breasts.

"This program is intended to showcase the talent of Thai people and it usually encourages youths to show their special skills," said Culture Minister Sukumol Kunplome. "Still, there have to be some limits."

23-year-old Duangjai Jansaunoi's naughty bits were censored, but some, including the judge Pornchita Na Songkhla, felt the "talent" went too far. "I'm not saying this is not good, but it's not appropriate," said Pornchita. "Within the Thai cultural context, I don't support this."

On social network sites, viewers were quick to point out that Pornchita herself once starred in a risque fashion shoot that featured nude torsos and molten chocolate.

Though the show's two male judges allowed Duangjai to proceed to the next round, yesterday was likely her first and last appearance on Thailand's edition of the popular reality show.

Head of the show's production company, Panya Nirandkul, issued a statement today apologizing for any offense caused. He insisted that the performance was not staged, and claimed he had no idea Duangjai would be topless.
