Speaking of movies that aren't very good, the poorly received Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter didn't even make it to second place. (That honor went to box-office champ Madagascar 3.) ALVH took in $16.5 million, not much compared to its estimated $69 million budget.
There were a couple notable limited releases — Woody Allen's To Rome With Love and indie apocalypse rom-com Seeking a Friend for the End of the World. The former did well, earning at least $75,000 at each of the five theaters where it screened, while the latter — which opened on 1,625 screens — averaged less than $2,500 at each.
Still, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World did crack the Top 10, with a total gross of $3.8 million. It could be worse, but ... not by much.
