It is primarily concerned, according to its audited financial statements, with investing in "certain transaction concurrently with Bain Capital Fund X LP." The coinvestment fund shares a general partner—Bain Capital Partners X LP—with Bain Capital Fund X LP.

Romney's 2011 financial disclosure lists the coinvestment fund among his assets, but shows zero holdings and earnings.
