Texas A&M University issued a Code Maroon to students around 12:30 this afternoon, telling students to remain in their residences or else avoid the area entirely.
CSPD reported that the as-yet-unidentified shooter was in custody as of 12:44 PM, but residents are still being warned against approaching the area.

UPDATE: The Eagle is reporting that one of the two officers shot during this afternoon's incident has died. Five victims are being treated at College Station Medical Center. According to KBTX, "three had sustained gunshot wounds, with two complaining of dizziness and chest pain." Another female victim was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Bryan. Her condition is unknown.
A CSPD press conference is expected to begin shortly, and can be streamed live on the KBTX website.
UPDATE 2: CSPD officials confirmed during the press conference that Brazos County Constable Brian Bachmann (left) was killed in the line of duty, while another officer sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. Two civilians were also shot, one of whom was pronounced dead. Two other officers suffered non-life-threatening wounds of an unspecified nature.
A Brazos County Constable source told WFAA that Bachmann was serving an eviction notice when he was fired upon. Officers who arrived at the scene were also fired upon and returned fire, wounding the shooter. He was then taken into custody. Neither his identity nor his condition have been released.
UPDATE 3: KBTX is now reporting that three people were killed in today's shooting incident, including the shooter.
