Facebook Ad Touting Dr Pepper as the 'Evolution of Flavor' Sparks Boycott Calls from Creationists

It's fairly safe to assume that Dr Pepper was not trying to make any sort of statement about the Darwin's Theory of Evolution when it posted a throwaway ad on its Facebook page delineating the "evolution of flavor."

But, as these things often go, evolution deniers soon descended on the post to decry the brand's promotion of the godless law of nature.

"I ain't no freaking chimp," one angry soft drink imbiber wrote. "No more Dr Pepper for my household. God Bless y'all."

Others joined in with similar statements until Reddit's atheism subreddit caught on to the pointless row, and soon the comment section was biblically flooded with logic and reason and all was right again with the world.

"The day your faith is shaken by a Dr. Pepper ad," read the confuters' mantra, "is the day you should probably start reconsidering your faith."

As for the lack of a formal response to the uproar from Dr Pepper, one Facebook user put up this theory: "I bet the social media manager who posted this is probably quietly on his/her way home from work, not knowing what he's/she/s started - LOL."
