Seven people have been injured in a mass shooting nearby Brookfield Square Mall in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Police have described the shooting as a "mass casualty" situation and are working to secure the scene. Nearby roads are blocked off and local hospitals are on alert. In its live updates, WISN-TV said witnesses saw a barefoot woman who ran out of the nearby Azana Spa, screaming and crying about the shooting.
We'll keep updating as the story develops.
The police have released the name of an alleged shooter, a 45-year-old man named Radcliffe Haughton. He is a resident of Brown Deer and may be driving a 2003 black Mazda Proege with license plate 171-KZD.
Haughton is the estranged husband of an Azana spa employee. He has been previously arrested for disorderly conduct, according to WISN-TV.
He's still believed to be nearby the mall.
Police confirm three of the seven victims of the Brookfield salon shooting have died.
The spa hasn't been cleared yet. The police chief on the scene said an explosive device was found in the building. The suspect's whereabouts are still unknown.
"I pray, and I hope he will turn himself in," Radcliffe Haughton Sr., the suspect's father said. "I am waiting for him to call me."
Brookfield Police Chief Daniel Tushaus said that Haughton was found dead in the spa, from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The four remaining victims were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Tushaus.
