Customers on the mailing list for fast-casual franchise Hale and Hearty received an email full of promises this morning.
One gift on offer was a piping hot cup of free soup. The other was service from a "cunt" named Mary.
"On Wednesday, January 30, 2008 we will celebrate the opening of our Livingston, NJ location by inviting all our loyal Hale and Hearty customers as well as your friends and family to enjoy a free cup of soup at our newest location at 464 West Mount Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, NJ. As an added bonus: Mary- you know the cunt from 47th street- will serve you personally in any manner you choose. so cum one and all to our new location at 464 West Mount Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, NJ."
The email ends by requesting that recipients forward the free service coupon to any family or friends in the Livingston area. A Hale Mary pass. (Please also note that the grand opening is scheduled to take place four years ago.)
We've reached out to Hale and Hearty for comment but have yet to hear back. (A call to their PR rep. went to voicemail.) Replies to email recipients posted on the company Twitter and Facebook accounts are heavy on apologies and ellipses:
@abellelife Thanks, we are currently looking into it and sincerely apologize..— Hale and Hearty (@HaleHeartySoups) October 23, 2012
If you are or know the cunt named Mary, please get in touch with us.
Update: Looks like the company has just sent out an email of apology to newsletter subscribers. Meanwhile, the Cunt of 47th St. remains at large:
