There's a new survey about yoga in America. (Pause for applause). It's put out by Yoga Journal—the very embodiment of Big Yoga—so I wouldn't put too much credence in it myself, but hey, you never know what you internet readers will believe.
MOST important finding here about America's 20 million yoga practitioners: "82.2 percent are women; 17.8 percent are men." Hey men in yoga class: ha. What's that? You get so much pussy by being the only dude in yoga? Yeah right. What's that? Your girlfriend made you go? Yeah right. What's that? It really improves your flexibility and conditioning for football or boxing some other super-manly sport? Yeah right. What's that? You're secure in your masculinity and you're not about to listen to some ignorant taunts from someone who doesn't know what the fuck they're talking about? Yeah right.
Also, there's this: "Of current non-practitioners, 44.4 percent of Americans call themselves "aspirational yogis"-people who are interested in trying yoga."
