I wish we could make distinctions between "gun owners." There is a difference between those who own semi-automatic assault rifles(and handguns) and those who own shotguns and rifles for sporting purposes. I'm not cool with stockpiles of AR-15, but BB guns seem pretty harmless to me. It is not right to lump them together. I actually love that my family members are hunters: I take all the venison, duck and pheasant that I can get. I hate franken-meat from the grocery store. Seriously, we need to figure out a way to separate the crazies from those who use guns for other purposes.

A new study suggests that white American gun owners are more likely to be racist. According to the data, logistic regressions found that "for each 1 point increase in symbolic racism there was a 50% increase in the odds of having a gun at home."
