Fans of all things miniature, unite: a tiny-ass deer—a baby Java mouse-deer to be precise—was born in Spain. There are only around 43 of the rare, hamster-sized creatures in Europe, and they are known to be "fiercely intelligent."
This little guy is being held at the Bioparc Fuengirola in Málaga, Spain. The zoo is home to a number of the rare species, including the new baby deer's parents, and the three live in "the zoo's Hidden Forest, which recreates the ruins of a temple lost in the Asian jungle." Sounds ideal and highly enviable.
Java mouse-deer are the smallest hoofed creatures on the planet and they rarely weigh more than 2.2 pounds. They are also the cutest creatures known to man, no contest. But what should we call him?
