Screen Legend and Activist Ruby Dee Is Dead at 91

Actress, civil rights activist, and all around badass Ruby Dee died Wednesday night at home in New Rochelle, NY, at age 91, the New York Daily News reports. Dee had an Emmy, a Grammy, and a National Medal of Arts, among her several awards, and was best known for her roles in A Raisin in the Sun, Do the Right Thing, and American Gangster.
