The only point the Republicans have is to obstruct as much as possible and then (ahem) point an accusing finger at Obama in 2010. I have a lot of confidence in the healing power of a strong economy, which is to say that I am willing to believe that whatever hypothetical damage done down the road by "certain of the budget items" will be negligible in comparison to the current and long-term benefits of the package as a whole."
