This morning, an all white marble bust of Dick Cheney was unveiled after what amounted to a series of very uncomfortable jokes tip-toeing around the former Vice President’s role in 9/11. It was a beautiful ceremony.

Among the speakers were former President George W. Bush (who used his time to remind everyone how much more likable he is than Jeb!), Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (who used his time to mock Dubya’s paintings), and newfound Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (who maybe sort of implied that Cheney was responsible for 9/11 with the line: “No one can accuse Dick Cheney of living an inconsequential life, he was in the White House on 9/11.”).

The final marble bust chosen is a marked departure from the original design, but lovely nonetheless.

You can watch the ceremony in full below.
