According to a tweet from Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, El Chapo (otherwise known as Joaquin Guzmán)has finally been arrested after escaping from his cell this past July through an underground tunnel.

Translated, the President’s tweet reads “Mission accomplished: we have him. I want to let the Mexican people know that Joaquin Guzman Loera has been detained.”

According to an anonymous official who spoke with the Associated Press, “Guzman was apprehended after a shootout with Mexican marines in the city of Los Mochis, in Guzman’s home state of Sinaloa.” During the shootout, five suspects were killed and one marine was wounded, though his injuries were not life threatening.

According to a statement from the Mexican Navy, they had received a tip that lead them to a home in Los Mochis, where the final clash ensued. In addition to El Chapo, the marines seized “two armored vehicles, eight long guns, one handguns, and a rocket-propelled grenade launcher.”

This past summer, the Mexican druglord captured headlines when he escaped from his maximum security cell in Altiplano prison after slipping through this hole:

Despite wearing a tracker and being under constant watch, human rights laws required the cell to have two blind spots in both his toilet and shower, the latter being where he finally made his escape.

The Mexican authorities later released video footage of his entire, spectacular escape.

It seems like it’s only a matter of time before El Chapo makes his next daring escape, but in the meantime—let us all just pray that he gets the affluenza teen as a cell mate.
