Earlier this week, the U.K.'s Channel 4 started airing Love for Sale with Rupert Everett, a new series in which the actor explores the U.K.'s sex industry by talking to its workers and consumers. The premiere's opening narration laid out its mission statement: "From the high class Mayfair escort, to the crack addict streetwalker, can there ever be such a creature as the happy hooker?"

The show's first interview subject suggested that indeed there is. Everett traveled to Exeter, England, to meet with independent escort Charlotte Rose. This gave him the opportunity to ask, "And how is country whoring?" According to Rose, it is just swell. Through her work, which takes place during daytime hours while her children are in school, she has learned that "everybody's got a beauty within them." She says that she's not sexually revolted by anybody, and that she aims to have one orgasm per client.

"I enjoy what I do," says the 33-year-old Rose, making a claim that few others can. If she's not completely comfortable with herself and her often maligned profession, she's at least a terrific actress.
