In what appears to be a legitimate press release on the blog of the official Atlas Shrugged Part I website, the producers of the film have announced that they will "replace more than 100,000 title sheets appearing on the Atlas Shrugged Part 1 DVD and Blu-ray versions." Sounds like a pain in the ass. Why? Did child porn pics somehow show up on them? No! But the ultimate Randian curse word — "self-sacrifice" — did, and that's worse. More »

Here's a trailer for The Human Centipede II: Full Sequence, the sequel to Tom Six's 2009 torture porn shocker. The movie revolves around a creepy fat guy's obsession with—and attempt to recreate—the experiment depicted in the original film. And by "experiment," I mean "the ass-to-mouth sewing together of three people." But since sequels always outdo their predecessors, the psychopath in Full Sequence rounds the number of victims up from three to a dozen. Is it any surprise the movie's already been banned in the UK? More »

With the Labor Day holiday approaching, it's becoming sadly clear: Summer is over. It's time to turn to autumnal things. That's not all bad, though! Fall movies, for example, are usually the year's best. Let's take a look at this year's selection, shall we? More »

Here's a trailer for The Rum Diary, which hits theaters this October. Based on Hunter S. Thompson's novel of the same name, the movie stars Johnny Depp as Paul Kemp, a late '50s NYC journalist/alcoholic who eventually finds himself in the middle of some sort of hotel development scheme down in San Juan. There's also a hot woman. And lots of rum! So basically, it's Pirates of the Caribbean, except without the accents. Or the pirates. Here's the trailer for Paranormal Activity 3, which, like its predecessors, focuses on Katie, a good-turned-evil suburban girl. And just like the franchise's second installment, it looks like we're in for another prequel, going back all the way to 1988 this time. The trailer promises to help us "discover the secret behind the activity" and is predictably full of creepy girl glares, creepy girl games (Bloody Mary!), and other things of a creepy girl nature. Paranormal Activity 3 will hit theaters this October—just in time for Halloween, naturally. More »

Here's the trailer for Hugo, a 3D fantasy/adventure film that will hit theaters this November. Based on Brian Selznick's children's novel The Invention of Hugo Cabret and directed by none other than Martin Scorsese, Hugo tells the story of an orphan who lives in the walls of a 1930s Paris train station. A mysterious/magical train station! The movie stars Sacha Baron-Cohen and Ben Kingsley, among others, and while Joe Pesci is conspicuously absent, Hugo still looks to be a Thanksgiving Weekend must-see. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, the eighth and final installment in the series, comes out on Friday. With that in mind, here's a new video from the Fine Brothers in which they recap all the Potter movies up until now in a cool seven minutes. More »

In his latest film, Tabloid, documentary filmmaker Errol Morris revisits a bizarre story that dominated the British rags 30 years ago. It was a simpler time. Voicemail hadn't yet been invented, so there was nothing to hack. Our heroine, Joyce McKinney, was a busty former Miss Wyoming with an I.Q. of 168. Living then in L.A., McKinney hired a pilot, a private detective, and several musclebound bodyguards, and set off to England to rescue the runaway fiance she was convinced had been brainwashed by the Mormon Church. More »

Film school is the journalism school of people who can't write. It's a place where kids with vague dreams of "making projects" go to chill out for a few years and learn that you should never call a "film" a "movie." Here's a trailer for War Horse, directed by Steven Spielberg and slated to open in theaters on December 28. Set in Europe during World War I, War Horse tells the story of a boy, Albert, and his beloved horse named Joey. When the two are forcibly separated, Albert attempts to track Joey across Europe's war-torn trenches, which—as you'll see in the trailer—provide a visually stunning backdrop for what Spielberg is billing as an "epic adventure." Did somebody say Oscar? More »

Here's a trailer for Brave, Pixar's first fairy tale—and first film featuring a female lead—which will hit theaters next June. Set in the Scottish Highlands, Brave tells the story of a little red-headed warrior princess named Merida and her courageous fight against the tradition of her land and a mysterious, menacing beast. And considering this is a Pixar film we're talking about, it shouldn't be long before Merida has the hearts of moviegoers everywhere. More »

Here's a new, longer trailer for the Paul Rudd comedy Our Idiot Brother. This one has a lot more Emotion on display, as we see Paul Rudd's (occasionally) lovable fuckup inadvertently teaching his disapproving sisters (Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel, and Emily Mortimer) life lessons. The director of schlocky torture porn film The Human Centipede, Tom Six, got a nice promotional boost for his follow up, The Human Centipede II, after the British Board of Film Classification refused to rate the film this week, effectively banning it in Britain. What happens in the sequel that offended the BBFC so much? It gets pretty meta, as the Guardian describes it — and it's gross: More »

Here's a trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, which premiered during tonight's MTV Movie Awards (right before Robert Pattinson made out with Taylor Lautner). Now, I'm no Twilight expert, but it appears that things will go down thusly: Jacob receives an invitation to Edward and Bella's nuptials and becomes so angry that he rips off his shirt (because obviously). The vampire Wedding of the Century then takes place, followed by lots of pillow-biting vampire sex. Jacob is still mad/shirtless. And then OH MY GOD does Bella have a baby bump?! More »

If you didn't tune in, then you probably don't know that—in a span of minutes—Robert Pattinson both ditched Kristen Stewart on stage to plant a big ol' kiss on Taylor Lautner in the audience, and said "But I did f*ck you" to Reese Witherspoon during a tribute award presentation (the F-bomb was missed by MTV censors). Here's a trailer for I Don't Know How She Does It, which comes out this fall. The "she" is Sarah Jessica Parker, and the "it" is, well, to be a carbon copy of Sex and the City's Miranda. Except instead of a lawyer, Parker plays a banker, and instead of being married to a dopey guy named Steve, she's married to a dopey guy named Greg Kinnear. Kelsey Grammer also appears in the movie, along with Pierce Brosnan, who plays a prospective Mr. Big for Parker—if she was playing Carrie, that is, which she isn't, because she's playing Miranda.
