Judge Dismisses Insane Clown Posse's Gang Lawsuit Against FBI

Last week, a federal judge in Detroit dismissed the Insane Clown Posse's lawsuit against the FBI. The lawsuit, filed by the clown rap duo and the ACLU in January, claimed the FBI's 2011 categorization of the group as a "loosely-organized hybrid gang" caused "significant harm" to ICP's fans.

Earlier this month, the U.S. Justice department asked Judge Robert Cleland to dismiss the suit on the grounds that the FBI wasn't responsible for the behavior of local law-enforcement agencies. Cleland agreed and dismissed the lawsuit last week.

The group and the ACLU plan to appeal the decision.

"This is not the end — we'll keep fighting to clear the Juggalo family name," ICP member Violent J said in a statement. "There has never been—and will never be—a music fan base quite like Juggalos, and while it is easy to fear what one does not understand, discrimination and bigotry against any group of people is just plain wrong and un-American."
