You can preorder James Frey's third novel 'Bright Shiny Morning' on Amazon for delivery this June 8. Boy, that's a fast turnaround for a September acquisition! Guess it didn't need to be edited much, being so genius and all.

So this is fiction, is it? Only I sometimes find it hard to tell.
The novel is about a dark, dull, evening.
Probably just trying to rush it past Oprah before she has one of her hellish underlords hobble its sales figures with a voodoo curse.
I hear the hellish underlords are too busy subbing for the suspended matrons at the Academy.
Now not only does he look like Brett Easton Ellis, but his novel title sounds like Brett Easton Ellis.
I'm guessing that no amount of editing can save it, so they just won't bother.
This is probably why they've made it available for pre-order so early; they want to sell as many copies as they possibly can before somebody acually reads it and word gets out about how much it sucks.
That sound you hear is Michiko Kakutani sharpening her claws of doom. I eagerly await to see what Frey "limns."
@GWVS: Indeed. And what's risible.
@LolCait: It will soon come out that the morning Frey writes about was neither bright nor shiny, and he in fact fabricated and exaggerated much of the brightness and shine of the morning.
Guess this post didn't need a real punchline, being about James Frey and all!
I read this post and said to myself, "Barf." Sure enough, Gawker was one step ahead of me by assigning the TAG, "BARF."
Poor James. Even now he looks like he could use a good pity fuck.
So are you equally against lying millionaire authors *AND* the unwashed turd who had the nerve to send an unsolicited email about her cliche-ridden novel around yesterday? Not trying to pick a fight, just would like some clarification.
Don't they have to go through the whole thing to make sure none of it's true?
@Liberace: How, and for what purpose, does one wash a turd?
