Yesterday at Peter Braunstein's trial for kidnapping and sexual assault, jurors were treated to a series of readings from his personal journals. Braunstein's personal manifesto provided a chilling journey into the mind of a blah blah blah—the important thing is that both of the tabs have evidentiary photos!
If you're the type that thrills to pictures of the chloroform that a deranged assailant used in the commission of a disgusting crime you'll want to check them both out! But in case your sickening voyeurism conflicts with a busy schedule, we've taken an exhaustive look at the pair in order to recommend one for the time-pressed rubbernecker. It's a close run thing, but we lean toward the News: the captions are funnier, the slideshow format is conducive to browsing, and they offer twenty shots to the Post's nineteen. On the other hand, the Post does offer the handy "Email this photo to a friend" option, so you'll have to make your choice based on how important sending a pal a pic of the rope Braunstein used in his attack is to you.

White. Before Memorial Day? He's obvs guilty.
In my mind, I see the readings being performed by James Lipton of Inside the Actors Studio.
1) You know, one would think that the victim would have some sort of lasting trauma that would react badly to all these images of not only her personal effects but the mask, the knife and other things that attributed to her attack plastered everywhere like this. I've never seen such a display of crime evidence published like this in any other crime case. Why are they doing this?
2) WTF is up with pic #18? "...kitchen of the victim stands eerily quiet." STFU. It's a photo, dumbass.
3) I find amusement in the video tape of Braunsteins being blank. Yes, he was quite possibly shooting a blank video of him. There's symmetry in that.
couldn't they have just forwarded these to dick wolf directly?
@The Real JR: In fairness, I doubt that the victim is dropping her $.50 a day to pore over the latest Peter Braunstein happenings.
The constable on the left got his suit tailored by Romanians.
excuse me while i go buy some more locks for my door
@HoHoKennedy: And the one on the right's tie goes all the way to his ankle, with a cute little loop-de-loop in a certain place just so he remembers it's there.
@KarenUhOh: And the tie flips to reveal the onesies' zipper.
A friend of mine was cast in one of his plays and has photos of herself with him. She emailed them to me, but I had to delete them almost immediately. Far too creepy to keep around.
Those cops look like complete goofballs. Who the hell is in their lives telling them that those moustaches are acceptable? On the other hand, they are exactly the type of guy you would expect to see on either side of you when you're being led away in handcuffs.
@PocketWizard: The staches are bad, but the ties are horrible!
I wasn't convinced that he was insane until I saw his hairdo in that Fairchild ID photo. No sane person would ever allow themselves to be photographed looking like that.
@the-cubicle-dweller: No question about it. KarenUhOh beat me to the punch, but on what planet do grown men tuck their ties into their pants?
The guy on the left should lose thirty pounds and shave his head. Once the hairline reaches the nape of the neck, it's game over.
And, anyway, the bigger douches are the two in the background. The cameraman who is completely out of position and the junior detective with the hairdon't that screams "I was a high school wrestler, but not (just) because I could cuddle with boys and then force them to submit to my will. Now I carry a badge and a gun."
momo wins.
“Another thought about the ongoing hysterical reaction in N.Y.C. that speaks to why I committed the crime(s) in the first place: the colossal sense of entitlement that only New Yorkers have. It’s not just that the crime clearly violated every Gotham taboo and pushed every conceivable button."
