We are officially through the looking glass, people. CBS grand poobah Les Moonves tells AP that he "wouldn't rule out" Jon Stewart to replace Dan Rather:

Asked twice, Moonves wouldn't rule out a role on the evening news for Comedy Central's Jon Stewart, whose "The Daily Show" skewers politicians and the news media each night. Moonves is co-chief executive of Viacom, which owns both CBS and Comedy Central.

How will Stewart keep up that "I'm just a comedian" bit if his name keeps popping up for gigs like this? What that guy needs right about now is a fake news scandal to bring him down a peg or two so Moonves and all those people calling for him to run for President will back the hell off. Like, has anyone else noticed that when The Daily Show's correspondents report "from the field," it looks like in-studio video effects? Yeah. Bad in-studio video effects.
