Benoit Denizet-Lewis Is Addicted To Everything

benoit.jpgSara Nelson's column in today's Post alerts us to a book we might actually read: baseball cap-bedecked Boston hottie and Times mag contributor Benoit Denizet-Lewis' upcoming tome about the state of addiction in America. The book is still untitled (Nelson writes that the book has been titled America Anonymous, but Denizet-Lewis doth protest) and, while we weren't interviewed for his book (for shame!), the sporty Frenchman tells us:

The book's about our culture of excess and addiction, the people who fall prey to it, and the industries that work hard to keep us addicted. I'll be following different kinds of addicts over a year or two period, and then broadening it out to look at how we became to be the most addicted country in the world (or, at least, the country most willing to call ourselves addicts).

Ah, well, we look forward to the chapter about the publishing industry's addiction to books about the struggles of addiction.
