Whole%20Foods.jpgAs if you needed another reason to avoid Park Slope, news has trickled down that the underground toxins that've been infecting the Gowanus Canal area for ages—including the site of the Brooklyn Whole Foods, at Third St. and Third Ave.—are slowly making their way over to Park Slope. The dangerously high levels of benzene supposedly don't pose an immediate risk to residents, but could spell problems in the coming years in the form of cancer and other icky things. Suddenly Fresh Direct seems that much more appealing.
