Just in from Forbes HQ: "We will be announcing tomorrow that Forbes has retained Cushman & Wakefield to pursue the sale of the headquarters building at 60 Fifth Avenue. As with many other media companies, such as Conde Nast and The New York Times, our business has simply outgrown our building. Recently we have begun talks with key developers in the city to create a new headquarters in New York City. We are planning that Forbes will remain at 60 Fifth Avenue and 90 Fifth Avenue for the next few years. As plans develop, we will keep you informed."

    Just how much of his family's money did that tool waste on his crusade for the flat tax, which would have meant he'd have paid way less in taxes?

  • Moves like this typically come with plenty of staff slicing. I predict they use this as a way to get rid of anyone expensive at the magazine. Its ad count is still high, but in the last issue there were something like 5 "special advertising sections." Plus, there are tons of quarter page ads -- bizarre in magazines. You think Bono is going to keep this thing around much longer?

  • Maybe their new HQ will be a green building. They can just throw a couple of pairs of Steve's glasses on the roof to harness incredible amounts of sun.
