It is truly impressive how she is able to move into the song, to truly inhabit it and make it her own, and to take this shopworn old song in startling, inventive new directions. A catharsis not just for Judith, but for all of us lucky enough to bear witness.

This reminds me of a performance I once saw in Savannah, Georgia of a very Judith Regan-looking drag queen lip syncing to that Connie Varnett pussy-cat song.
