Every year, the New York Times travel section publishes a ranked list of the 52 best places to go that year, and if you're the adventurous type, the world sure is your reclined-seat oyster. This year, the number one best place to visit is Milan, Italy, followed close behind by Cuba (finally) and Philadelphia (super enormous big-ups are due here).
The Times' top ten list is as follows:
- Milan, Italy
- Cuba
- Philadelphia
- Yellowstone National Park
- Elqui Valley, Chile
- Singapore
- Durban, South Africa
- Bolivia
- Faroe Islands
- Macedonia
The remaining forty-two spots range from locavore-heavy Orlando, Florida to glamour hotel haven Oman. Steamboat Springs, Colorado looks dope as hell. Chengdu, China has pandas as the city's primary draw, so, really, say no more. The rest of the list can be browsed (with hi-res Zen-inducing GIFs) at this link, and an explanation of how the writers chose the list in 2014 can be found here.
