"Generally the drives they use are not Hitachi Deskstar, (I know this because I'm in the know & from what I've seen & had other associates tell me, the drives inside LaCie products, (which you will void the warranty of if you open them up to check), are generally NOT the more expensive Hitachi Deskstar Drives, they are USUALLY Western Digital, Maxtor, Seagate, and some are new, some are used / green label re-manufactured & also other off brands, like Samsung, generally NOT good name brands known for their quality & or reliability."
