@topsy: You guys think Toronto could ever be New York? Really?
@ArcticVaranus: Acknowledging the artifice of celebrity/public image cuts to the core of Lady Gaga. This is the 21st century. Don't be an idiot.
Makes sense. His dad is racist too.
@missdelite: Oh, please. Oprah plasters her face and name all over a variety of forms of media. She's narrating that show "Life" right now, just because she wants to (and she's not good at it!). Bill Gates and other CEOs may be celebrities as businessmen, but compared to Oprah...well, you can't even see them in her shadow.
That's a stretch. The Glad joke was certainly poking fun at "Top Chef" for its overt shilling, but in the process 30 Rock dedicated an entire scene to sandwich bags. I doubt Glad is too unhappy about that. #30rock
For $500 million they ought to have been able to hire someone who could design aliens that didn't look like they were taken straight from the cover of a throwaway sci-fi novel. Also: Fern Gully 2.0 #avatar
@metoometoo: Jung supposedly heard voices and his hallucinations/visions weren't artificially induced. But instead of seeking help to cure whatever what going on with him like the vast majority of people would have done, he liked being able to "explore his subconscious." I think it's all really badass, but voices and visions falls under my definition of "crazy." #jackdorsey
The "Red Book" isn't just free-form journaling. Jung was legit crazy -- he had hallucinatory episodes, which he welcomed and actively indulged in. He recorded them, and they're what the Red Book is based off of. #jackdorsey
I dunno, I think we have a pretty good chance of leaving behind some significant damage before we go extinct! I guess I'm an exuberant pessimist. #obits
@Wendy_Kroy: Felonistas is pretty great. #nickprugo
@TedSez: All I think they're saying with that first quote is that Dave didn't go for perfect 10's, because really hot people are more likely to be confident about their dating prospects and more comfortable with rejecting others (such as Letterman). Less attractive people are less likely to be as secure about themselves from a dating perspective. That's what the "easy target" stuff was about, no need to make it into anything sexist. (It's true for guys too!) #davidletterman
@Unsolicited Advice: From a managerial perspective, Letterman is the product. If they fire him they no longer have any product at all. (A Late Show without Letterman is not a Late Show with Letterman). #davidletterman
@drunkexpatwriter: The Brits have something similar to that pink drink. When I was abroad in London everyone drank "snakebites," which is exactly what you described, except substitute vodka for the 7-up. It's supposedly a more efficient way to get wasted, and it tasted pretty good (for a cheap shitty drink) t0o. #scientology
Bottom line, reason they should've used a male model, is because Adam Lambert looks like an awkward virgin who has no idea what to do with a woman. Which makes sense, but still. Not sexy. #adamlambert
I watched the wife swap episode with this guys two days ago. (Seriously that show is amazing). The guy is completely nuts. I highly doubt he's playing a persona with his crazy theories -- he likely actually believes what comes out of his mouth. Oh, and he's also a sexist douchebag.
@Soup: I think that may be an misperception. I really think there are people out there who believe that FOX is as valid a news source as its competition and try to make their decisions accordingly. I think that it's idiotic to see things that way, but a lot of average Americans don't share my viewpoint.
@registered: I don't think anyone will argue Don isn't being a giant ass this season, and his behavior has not been OK. But it's also true that Betty has been an icy bitch this season (remember the time she guilt tripped her father about the fact he was dying?). Regardless of Don's true colors, I don't think it's hard to see why he would want to find intimacy with someone else when his wife is acting that way.
@Atilla the Bun: Don, for all of his cynical hypocrisy, believes in putting on a good appearance and considers himself a "serious man." He literally had to invent a new identity, so it's not surprising he cares about reputation. Roger, on the other hand, doesn't give a shit about that, because he's a tough-minded hedonist who has had money and respect since birth. That's not to say he doesn't care about what people think of him at all, but he certainly doesn't care in the same way Don does. Or at least that's my theory.
