"I think part of the problem is that the AP reports McCain's 'web ads' knowing full well that at best they are nothing but mean-spirited distortions, at worst outright lies, but they report them anyway, increasing the exposure of something that only get exposure because the news wants it to and then, after running t a bunch of times, they put out an ad with a passive-aggressive headline like 'New McCain ad May have distorted truth'."
