I'm making a list of Gawker's Most Eloquent Items of 2011, and this one is ranked Number.... um, my math's not that good. When the nunmbers get really, really high, I shut down.
I love the micro-move-down motion with the phone mouthpiece. They drop it an inch and jammer out their order. Move the mouthpiece back up and keep talking. Drop it once more when the barista asks a follow-up question, then hitch it back up, dismissing the exchange as unimportant and not worthy of breaking their external connection. I think the idea is to communicate that they are critical to the day's 'conversation' and are talented multi-taskers who transcend the dolts who politely stand in line and place their coffee order with a full Montymouth. And a smile. The Blueteef are a separate chapter altogether.
