"The kit contains Nikkor AF-S 24mm, 35mm and 85mm lenses, all for around $6700—which, oddly, is less than they cost to buy separately. "
How could you be so stupid that you would post the exact opposite of the truth? $6700 is way more than they cost separately. Oh yeah, you're the same guy who used "nevermind" as an actual word in another article further up. (I know nevermind is a word–archaic as it is–but in the context you used it, you actually meant "never mind".) It's not just the redesign that is sinking this ship. You and Brian Moylan are the same person, right?
I hope you know that I posted that wordsmoker link because it was the most accessible compendium of that thread and I thought your comments were dead on and awesome. This site has never been the same since you, shelia and moe departed.
Too bad this site is so fucked up. Bad timing. A google search for Chris Lee doesn't even show gawker.com on the first page. And they're the one's who broke the story! Maybe now rethink the whole hash-bang thing? Maybe?
I will never understand the idea that you can sue people (read: your customers) and think it's all going to end well.
I will never understand the idea that you can steal from people (read: your entertainment providers) and think it's all going to end well. But some people are just stupid.
Well, let's see. Ticket sales have declined steadily since 2002. DVD sales have been declining since 2003. Music's kind of complicated, but overall revenue has steadily declined for about the last 10 years. So, just because people are watching more and listening more, doesn't mean they are buying more. They are buying less. Piracy is really fucking things up. And it pisses me off because it just makes the industries more cautious, meaning less interesting artists, fewer decent movies. You've got to have a pretty low IQ to think you can steal from an industry you actually value (you like movies and music), and expect it to survive. I hope every single fucking pirate out there gets their ass sued. They're just scum, who think they are entitled to have whatever they want without paying for it. Idiots are just shooting themselves in the foot and don't even realize it.
You should see the traffic stats. gawker's gone from a worldwide ranking of about 650, to nearly 1200 in the past 7 days. Gizmodo has fallen similarly. But it's been really weird. Even trolls aren't getting replies on their comments.
Yeah. What's up with all the fucking non-ironic lists the past few months? There was a time when Gawker used to mock the listmakers. Did they raid the editorial pool at Parade Magazine or something?
So you're telling me that all those shrink-wrapped wicker baskets collecting dust in my garage are actually worth something? Now if people can figure out a way to abuse summer sausage, or tiny jars of mustard, I'll be set.
@jefffan24: Ugh. I know that. As trivial as it sounds, that is an extra step. I'll say it again, and I hope someone has a solution: I want to be able to, in Chrome, type into the address window "stupidwebsite" and, without holding down any keys; without clicking with my mouse; without using my arrow key, to be taken to [www.stupidwebsite.com] just by hitting return. Not the google search page. I don't understand why this concept is so hard to grasp. I have been able to do exactly this with every other browser I have used. There has to be a way to do this with Chrome (without any control or alt key) that I am missing. I am pleading ignorance here. What the fuck am I missing? There has to be a setting. Like I said before, this ability is as old as early versions of Netscape. Surely Chrome can do it.
If I am still not making myself clear, please tell me. And please don't give me a solution that involves a modifier key or a mouse click. I AM AWARE OF THESE SOLUTIONS.
Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. This couldn't be a simpler question.
@texasbrownie.com: It's very telling that you are too afraid to come back here and defend your position. Or maybe just too stupid. Yeah, I'll go with stupid.
@sbrown7792: Okay. Maybe I'm not being clear. Ever since, I think, Netscape, if I typed "CNN" into the address bar and hit return, I would be taken to cnn.com. I wouldn't have to press any other keys. I wouldn't have to hit the down arrow to choose cnn.com. I can still do this in explorer, firefox, and safari. But with chrome, I have to either hold down extra keys, or arrow down to the URL. Why can't I, in chrome, type in the main part of a dot com url, (aldaily, for example) and just hit fucking return? No other keys. No arrow nav. JUST. FUCKING. HIT. RETURN. And be sent to the site? This has been a part of browsers for years. There has got to be a way to make chrome do this. Please tell me if I am not making sense.
