Officially the stupidest thing I've ever read on Gizmodo, which actually doesn't put it that high up in the running for stupidest thing I've ever read on Gawker Media.
Wow, everyone--*everyone*--involved in this looks juvenile and pathetic. Thing is, normally that would signal probable veracity on the part of Giz et al--why would anyone intentionally write themselves that way? But the fact that you *did* write it this way kind of also signals some kind of vindictive amusement on your part... which doesn't reflect well on Giz at all.
Every time someone's reaction to news like this is "Forget the politics, it's just sad, it doesn't matter if you support the war or not, etc., etc.", make them listen to this clip.
I surely do find it delicious that my comment was nuked on the basis of a Community Policy that purports to value commentary with "good grammar and spelling."
Dude, this sentence: "And while the Eguchi Aimi phenomenon may be just anecdotical, the fact that a synthetic creation has been able to make their fans to have crushes and feelings without them never realizing she was a figment of someone's imagination, a digital mutant mix, is not a simple anecdote." --> Are you having a stroke?
Connect your phone to iTunes and then put it into DFU mode--turn the phone off, then hold both the power and home buttons for ten seconds. Release the power button, continue to hold the home button. You should get a msg from iTunes asking if you want to restore; restore to factory defaults and then restore from your last backup.
He's totally right; I just went through the whole rigamarole to discover this, then had to restore from backup. Would've been nice if Diaz had mentioned that in the post.
This "works" so long as you don't need your phone to connect to the cell network or have any functionalitywithin iTunes--even iTunes 10.5b. I was scared shitless for a few moments until I got it into DFU mode and restored from my backup. I wouldn't even fuck with this until there are some more details about functionality; so far as I can tell, it cripples phones. Maybe it'd be cool for iPods, though.
