In the best Ole' Gipper voice...

"My fellow Americans, I'm pleased to tell you today that I've signed legislation that will outlaw Scoble forever. We begin bombing in five minutes."

Well, literally, not so sure. But penis as ego, yeah.
I guess this means he won't become the Facebook Evangelist, he so earnestly campaigned for. Anything Scoble is spam anyways, he's just culling data, blogger-penis-enlargement style.
Common sense that, but Mike fails royally, on the treating (and being) human issue.
I dunno, it seems to me, in a wholly unscientific poll of one, that more people saw Michael Girard's 'Dancing Baby' demo (back when Unreal Pictures was real and not Autodesk).

That video bit was everywhere thanks to Ally McBeal. The Star Wars kid had so many copycats, that oft times people who thought they had seen it, hadn't. But no one has forgotten the 'Dancing Baby', that got more of a mainstream hook, and it continues to get "hits" and "pageviews" in off-internet media, heck it even made it into a recent time-traveling Journeyman bit.

Better than the parody blog spew, but then that's not saying much. However I rather enjoyed it (for it's own sake), and the review spite does seem to spring from a jealous place, but "narrow potential audience indeed" is ever so apt -- too insidery and full-of-itself bluster covering a full-of-itself socipathy persona, it gives you a serious ping-pong headache, going on and on like a 80s answering machine recording loop, forever and ever. Great the first paragraph, good the first page, 247 pages of lukewarm monologues later -- pure torture (but wait here while I go get 3 other people to agree with me).

Death also comes in threes.

That guy with the Zune tat is even more (surprisingly) scary.

Always something out there...

In the 40s it was Hollywood movies and escapist literature, in the 50s beatniks, cars and speed (both kinds), in the 60s, hippie culture, Eastern Mysticism and new earthy drugs, in the 70s it was television, old Playboy magazines, disco and violent comics, in the 80s video games, heavy metal and Walkmans, in the 90s, drugs, Internet, pornography, and in the 00's, it's all the fault of the entertainment industrial complex.

God help us, how do we even get out of bed in the morning.

The Kindle is doomed, if Scoble likes it. If you want a consumer electronics gadget to succeed, keep it as far away from Scoble as possible.
Rathole the size of the known universe. Mahalo is such a waste of time, effort and money that it's half criminal.
Guy's a joke to anyone who actually attends the sessions and has any whiff of smarts, but he's a Living Godhead, to the bloggers and marketing folk, who just hang out in the lobbies.
It's even worse than terrible, as Scoble likes it.
Yeah, the "power struggle, locked-horns, uncertain future" plot, too often fitting for all the Web 2.0 startups, doesn't fit neatly into every storyline. Work the snarky cop beat long enough, pretty soon it seems everyone is a flake or criminal, but that's not reality.
Well the Web 2.0 droogs too, and any droog within a 40 mile radius of the Valley. East Coast firmwareheads need not apply.
Abruptly? Only if you aren't following the company, he sold nearly 250,000 shares, the first week of Oct. and rumors been floating around for months. And it's not so much a sign of an ominous Adobe future, as just him getting tired of the San Joe jockeying around, and golden parachuted out, trading the Valley for the PBS Wash DC Potomac shores. Besides with Warnock, Geschke, Tarkoff and the super power-broker VP's, the Adobe CEO position is half figurehead.

The 3Q was a good one - Macromedia digestion full, the stock demand remains strong, and futurewise, CS3 is a milestone. He's going out on a high note, 7 years of fat. And Chizen is not of the narcissistic long-goodbyes sort, perhaps breaking PR protocol but vintage Chizen.

My take at least...but you can read whatever conspiracy theory into it you want. The market will look at the boring fundamentals, and all will be well.

30 gig, with a new firmware/codec update in less than 2 hours, say what you will about Microsoft consumer ineptness (I'd more than likely agree), but you can't beat that deal, and the sound quality output is actually better. The Zune 1 was like the Xbox, just a placeholder until the real contender gets there, as Zune 2 is pretty fab, if the the build-quality holds.
Lost in all this is that the commie Markoff is not really a journalist, he just burns those that don't play the worship-him games, aka Mitnick and others. And you can throw objective out the window, if a story ever details something about any of his social-network party-going buddy chums.
Know more about Facebook? And that's a virtue?
Sure he's an attention whore, but unlike, oh say Scoble, he's actually entertaining, with kicking sarcasm sting and actually has smarts, chugging his ironic wit around since the dawn of time. Back in the early PC journalism days when everyone was reading straight from the PR, he was a nice thing to have around, reality-check style.
