"When I was in pre-professional ballet school one of the chief images used to explain how we should hold our arms and perform port de bras (movement of the arms and torso) was the slogan from Lucky Strike, "So round, so firm, so fully packed!" Like Patrick Swayze says in Dirty Dancing, no spaghetti arms."
"Anytime we open one of these Unspiked posts we should get to hear Jon Stewart say, "When a news story falls through the cracks, Gawker catches it for a segment we don't call Back in Black." Some kind of visual representation of the fist "catching it" would be excellent too."
"@caligulash: I don't know enough about financial stuff to feel confident saying where the blame - or praise, for that matter - ought to rest (although I do support praise for people who navigate anything, markets included, respectfully and with an eye-out for fairness and communal well-being).
When I wrote that "the blame game is the same as the boom game" I only meant that during the boom it seems like everyone is grabbing for as many pieces of the pie as possible, and during the "blame" period nobody wants there to be any perception that they had any pieces of the now-gone pie."
