I live in the UK and I just want to say that the kind of price Goop paid for that stroller is what normal people pay here! Maybe it doesn't seem that crazy to her as she lives here.

It is insane though. Many people (normal people, even some poor people) have strollers that cost £500-£800 ($850-$1200) all in. THEN they get a smaller one (like a Mclaren) TOO on top of that! It is really the norm.

Traditionally the pram/buggy is a gift from the grandparents, while many parents then buy a smaller McLaren style one themselves.

Coming from the US this all seemed crazy to me, as I don't know anyone who dropped serious money like that on a stroller. But it is just the done thing here, everyone wants to have a good name pram!

This is bringing back memories of when my 1st grade class went to the hospital for a field trip (1984) and they gave the girls "nurse" hats and the boys "doctor" kits.
I was once in a Subway shop in Alnwick, England. It was the ONLY FOOD ESTABLISHMENT OPEN at 5pm on a Saturday or else I wouldn't have been in there. I was pregnant and needed to eat due to nausea. My (Scottish) husband waited in the car with the kids (who were asleep) while my brother (who was visiting from the US) and I went in to get food. The girl listened to our accents, went into the back and came back with a manager who said they couldn't sell us any subs because they were "out of bread". There was a whole rack of bread and I said so. "That's for tomorrow" he said. I was pregnant and feeling sick so I just left. As we drove away we saw two men walk in and GET SERVED SUBS. I am not sure I have ever been so enraged in my entire life.

Your story made me think of this for the first time in years!

I know someone with this gentic condition, her parents were told that she wouldn't live past a year and she is now about 30. I think that is a very very rare outcome. While her health is fairly good presently (although she does have heart problems) she is mentally handicapped and will never live on her own.

(I stopped to read the story because her facial features are very like Bella Santorum's and the picture caught my eye.)

"At least one person has noted that she sneezes when she eats over seventy-percent cacao chocolate."

This happensto my husband! He pointed it out ages ago and we now notice it happening everytime he eats chocolate! He was wondering if it was some allergy or something. Will have to forward this article to him.

They are actually even step below Mega Blocks. (We get Mega Blocks here too). My kids have mainly Lego but have had both Mega Block and Cobi bits here and there and the Cobi blocks are def worse quality. Also some of the packaging is just about the cheapest looking thing I have ever seen.

They never won my kids over until they bought Dr Who character rights. Shame Lego didn't go after them.

My son buys the character packs with his pocket money (you get a random figure) and he also got the pack of all the Dr's for Christmas. I was surprised he wanted them as he usually is so loyal to Lego but his love of Dr Who must have won out! For his purposes they are fine, he is 8 and just plays with them. He seems to be able to make them fit fine for whatever it is that he is doing! An 8 year old is probably less picky than a collector though.
Awww, I was a NE Ohio Girl Scout. I just looked this up to see if our local camp - Camp Lycopodia, was one affected and found that they sold it in 2010. Hope the flying squirrels are okay!
She does look really different doesn't she? I mean, she probably has highlights/hair color too there but she does seem fairer there in general. She must tan or fake tan a lot now.
I've seen pictures of her blonde before. Trying to post but failing!
2. As other people have said it's got to be Khloe. "Rumblings for a long time" - I read in 2010 that Scott "American Psycho" Disick was threatening to sell a tell all which said that Khloe was not Robert Kardashians child but the product of an affair Kris had. The family has proabably decided they'd better milk this for all it's worth before he sells them out.
Could 4. be the The Osmonds? Seems the most likely to me. They are well known mormons and I think I remember hearing Marie's daughter is openly gay.
Yes, I can't stand this either. I'm not sure where you live but we see this regularly here in Scotland. Some people are invited to the meal after the wedding and then the some guests are not invited to that, they are only invited to the "evening reception" - ie party without the meal.

I refuse to go to this. We didn't do this for our wedding because we think it is stupid. Either you are close enough to us to be invited to our wedding or you aren't, the "evening reception" thing is ridiculous. We just politely turn down any invites we get for those.
Well, I posted my experience in the comments last time:

I had a lump and had to go for a check. I had a couple different types of scans (I think a mamogram then a sonogram?) then they told me they wanted to do a needle biopsy. This was a breast cancer screening center in our local hospital run by the NHS in the UK. I was told they like to do it all same day so that I would not have a long torturing wait for results. I waited about 45 minutes to an hour for the needle biopsy to take place and then another 45 minutes to an hour to get my results - all clear (just turned out to be a problem from some mastitis I had when breastfeeding).

Anyway I was out of that place by lunch time and had a needle biopsy in that time that was not scheduled ahead of time so I certainly thought her story sounded possible.

(By the way, this America expat thinks the NHS is awesome.)
My mom accidentally told my sister when she was 9 or 10. She was drivng the family van and was listing things she had to do out loud. She said something like "I need to get the rest of the things for your stockings..." not even thinking about it. She said she then looked in the rear-view mirror to see a look of shock and despair on my sisters face and silent tears streaming down it. My mom said she had just assumed she knew but played along for the younger ones (especially as I was older and knew) but hadn't meant to ruin it for her like that. She felt awful!
I once had to go in for a lump. I had a sonogram and a mamogram and then a needle biopsy all in just a couple hours. Then got the results of the needle biopsy in only 45 minutes. They made a point to not have people wait longer than necessary for results because they know how bad the wait is.
Yes, I was just about to say it reminds me of Popular. That was all over the place too and just went too batshit and stupid after a while. I couldn't watch Glee very far in and that was the same. He can't develop characters properly and there is never any continuity with the few ways they do develop either. It is mind numbing and vomit inducing after a while.
I know. It also makes you think "Uh huh. Global warming is going to kill us all because we're never gonna get our crap together and the 1% are going to have us all working in sweatshops because people are such dumbasses."

At least this one made me laugh. Only because otherwise I'd cry.
What's the deal with the yoga guy? Was he actually doing naked yoga in their living room and Kris walked in? Enquiring mings want to know! That's just really stupid if so. What a bunch of weird flaky weirdos.
"And we remind ourself just how lucky we are here, together, in the greatest country on earth."

I'll probably get flamed for this but as an expat can I just say it is statements like this that really rub people in other countries the wrong way. Who's to say that their country is better than everyone else's? It's a curious part of the American culture that people publically say things like that and and think that way. I was not that aware of how it makes us look until I moved outside the US some years ago.
