No one's trying to resolve anything I think, we're just discussing the scenario.

@mipsy6:
I think that's a really good point.

bria commented on Thoughts About Thinking & Drinking @lucystrawberry:
Got it, sorry.
I personally really appreciate Anna giving us the chance to discuss it, when it's been on a lot of people's minds for awhile. I also appreciate her frankness and the fact that she isn't trying to cover it up or anything. Anna's an amazing editor.

I also feel like if a commenter had said some of the things Moe/SM said, they would have been banned, or at least vilified by other commenters.

bria commented on Thoughts About Thinking & Drinking @lucystrawberry:
Where's that comment from Anna?

bria commented on Thoughts About Thinking & Drinking @iamtrex:
It obviously wasn't just that, it was the fact that SM implied that you can avoid being raped by being 'smart.'

bria commented on Thoughts About Thinking & Drinking @lovecake:
Yeah, I'm not surprised, just bothered that they did this and publicly related it to Jezebel.

bria commented on Thoughts About Thinking & Drinking @thejoyofsound:
It was professional, though. It was not an event that would've taken place had those women not been part of Jezebel.

bria commented on Thoughts About Thinking & Drinking @katekate is squared:
Thank you! Took the words out of my mouth.

bria commented on Thoughts About Thinking & Drinking @Mrs. DeLesseps To You, Dahling:
It's not the only thing they've done. And I didn't ask for them to be fired, I asked what more they had to do to be fired... if that makes sense.

bria commented on Thoughts About Thinking & Drinking @SisterMaryMartha:
No, I obviously don't know he whole policy. Both of them have done things against the stated rules of the websites. That's all. Okay if we drop this?

bria commented on Thoughts About Thinking & Drinking @betamax-bandit:
They didn't have to accept the gig. And they didn't have to get drunk... but they did. And know they have to realize that what they said was offensive, ill thought out and embarrassing to their website and readers.

bria commented on Thoughts About Thinking & Drinking @Zlevee:
I don't think it's oversensitive to be offended that a writer said she avoided being raped by being 'smart'.

bria commented on Thoughts About Thinking & Drinking @hortense:
I think it represents SM as a writer, and since her blog post is about Jezebel too, I would say it's relevant.

bria commented on Thoughts About Thinking & Drinking @CreoleSugar:
I'm eighteen... I HOPE I do.

bria commented on Thoughts About Thinking & Drinking @SisterMaryMartha:
No, but I know that you're not supposed to 'out' (identify a commenter by their real name) a commenter in spite, which Slut Machine did. Please, I'm not trying to get snippy, I don't know why you threw that attitude at me.

bria commented on Thoughts About Thinking & Drinking @ronaldpagan:
After Moe's last "apology" post, I'm not surprised Anna stepped up for this one.

bria commented on Thoughts About Thinking & Drinking I'm just very curious to know... what more do they have to do to be fired? Both of them, in separate incidents, have broken the rules of Gawker Media and Jezebel and... nothing?

bria commented on Free People: Hideous Iron-Curtain Nostalgia Will Set You Back A Few Rubles @tscheese:
Shorter skirts can be used to schlep more crap like leggings on top of tights underneath hideous boots, and longer skirts can be used to showcase ridiculously expensive flip-flops. My guess.

bria commented on Free People: Hideous Iron-Curtain Nostalgia Will Set You Back A Few Rubles Why! Since when is layering tights with high socks cute? And wouldn't that be suuuuuper uncomfortable?
It looks like you could buy all of the separates at Forever 21. CHEAP.

I agree with you. I think the fact that she's doing time makes me feel better about this.

bria commented on Senior Citizen Steals Hearts, Gems I bet Marc Jacobs would love to dress her. Seriously, doesn't she seem like she could be one of his muses?

Okay, got it. Your post came across super condescending, and this one didn't help anything. Let's drop it.

bria commented on Resolved: High School Debates Aren't What You Think They Are @MysweetuntouchedMiranda:
You're right about that, for suuuure. Pretty close minded.

bria commented on Resolved: High School Debates Aren't What You Think They Are @blackbirdfly:
Agreed. I hate that 'you're not in it, you don't get it' mentality.

bria commented on Resolved: High School Debates Aren't What You Think They Are @TheGirlWithTheGoldenEyes:
Along the same lines as cocoesq, I'm just going to throw out a mere sociological observation and note that you seem to have a huge stick up your ass.

EVERYONE DID EMAIL/CALL! How did you not realize that? We can do multiple things at the same time: i.e. write Amazon and write Jezebel comments.

bria commented on This is a T-shirt, one of @Sunflowercat:
Yeah, that point is just like whatever- this whole thread is about taking action! I don't get his/her point at all.

bria commented on This is a T-shirt, one of @irishbreakfast:
Oh, and no one's pissed because you said something revolutionary and wanted to make change, your banning was called for because you were completely rude to someone for no reason at all.

bria commented on This is a T-shirt, one of @irishbreakfast:
What do you mean?

People have contacted Amazon, called, written, told their friends, vowed to boycott, contacted advertisers, the whole bit: how the fuck is that doing very little?

bria commented on This is a T-shirt, one of @hortense:
Honestly, how is irishbreakfast not banned for that?

bria commented on This is a T-shirt, one of @SarahMC:
I get your point about the illegality thing- point taken.

bria commented on This is a T-shirt, one of @Charlotte Corday:
I know what you're saying, but abortion is legal. Rape is not.

bria commented on This is a T-shirt, one of @Charlotte Corday:
Right, I understand- what I really meant is boycotting THIS t-shirt.

bria commented on This is a T-shirt, one of @CitizenjaQ:

I don't understand what you're saying.

We think the shirt is offensive. Therefore, we are talking about it and boycotting Amazon.

What part of that don't you agree with?
