I kinda think a blond Sasha Cohen is sorta cute.

And beats off actions heroes, Johnny Depp all weekend long.
He has to be the whitest guy ever.
This is crap. I don't believe a word. And all those lazy and tired expressions, "furtive glances," "gazing deeply..." And "ur so hot"? Either it's a gay guy or a pedophile.
I was just reading today how Joe Biden is using a human shield of children to protect him. From today's Providence Journal about Biden paying a visit to a wake: "Biden needed no other security as the children escorted him in. The children held him by the hand and smiled as if they were gathered around a dear old uncle. For some, it wasn’t the first time they met the vice president. Asked what Biden told her as they were walking in, one girl said, 'He said he’d like to take me home. He told me the same thing last year when I saw him in Iowa.'... Then, as if on cue, the children escorted him out, offering a natural buffer from reporters and other curiosity seekers."
@T.A.N.: Yup, this is the Philly White People Pool. Too much chlorine and they got french fries at the snack bar. PS. I think your comment reads better without the line breaks.
@RollsRoyceRevenge: What we're not looking for: IM-like conversations. We're all gonna die.
@Nick Denton: Like I said, I'm all for the change. I was taking aim at your description of the undesirables. Truth is, I like BadUncle and Aaron Altman.
@RollsRoyceRevenge: Nope, never had a star. I'm more of a moon person anyway.
@RollsRoyceRevenge: And didn't you use to have a star? And why the fuck am I in gray? I hate that, it strains my eyes.
Personally, I liked bitchy and glib. And the ranters, chatty commenters and grammarians-- Christ, they make up about 90% of the old timers on here. Assholes. I'm all for the change, whatever the hell it's about (who has time to read through that shit?). The people on here need to be smacked around from time to time to keep them awake. Anyway, good for you, power bottoms! You have a lot of work ahead of you.
Geeky, classy and funny- that's a pretty amazing combination.
@cdmunch: My comment was for Jim, not Jake, btw.
@forgetitjake: The Bush Administration made this same argument when the Times told the story of the secret government program that monitors private banking, after sitting on it for a year. They felt it was best the public be kept in the dark while other journalists attacked the paper for not releasing the information earlier.

It's a problem that's been played out with secret government programs, epidemics, terrorist threats, military plans, etc., etc. There is an obligation for the public to know about these things for their own good and to keep a check on government power.

As for Iran, the hostage takers wanted that publicity. That's why they took over such a highly visible target as the embassy. The coverage was important because it kept pressure on the US government to do something. Had we just forgotten about the hostages, they surely would have been killed.

I wonder if there are other kidnapping cases that news organizations are sitting on. And I wonder at what point the Times would have seen fit to release the story- a year? two years?

Seven months is a long time- you have to wonder what his captors were expecting after all these months. They didn't receive a ransom and without publicity there was no political glory in it for them, so why did they sit on the story?

Jefferson is probably rolling over in his grave.
@scouts honor: He was shot in the head and is paralyzed for life.
Hampton's letter is probably at the bottom of a pile of crap on some intern's desk. God knows they have better things to do, like lipstick kissing Glenn Beck photos for fans and shopping for big Bill's loofahs.
