a shame. at least my boss got one last good basket. and i'm talking good! none of this grocery store fare. his holiday gift came with rambutan and persimmon!
this isn't so much pity party (others here may disagree), as much as it is a really good point. i'm not a lawyer, but i've seen the same misleading placement/career opportunity claims in my own industry. all of this is compounded by messages of "you must join (read: pay for) professional orgs to stay relevant" and we're talking about a lot of money spent just to call yourself underemployed.
yes, but if there are more white kids, then those fancy suburban schools will get crowded. and if there's one thing we know white people don't like, it's having to share.
slightly off topic: what the fuck is this "how to date an indian" woman thinking?? OMG, my brain just leaked out of my ears. a woman who says "these incredibly attractive brown people [are] all over the place." (w/ regard to ivy campuses) in one sentence, and then laments the validity of wikipedia info in the next, is some kind of special mind fuck.
a person who's concerned with what's proper, probably shouldn't engage in "it's ok, i can exoticize brown people. i'm friends with one." tactics at all.
other highlights: "Indians are ...social creatures" "one more big bonus when it comes to dating an Indian: communication with cabbies"
im not gonna lose my shit now over the all differences only to eat my words in 3 months when i settle in. but some thoughts:
-story summaries help me decide if post is worth clicking on. considering how creative you guys get with the headlines and how long these pages are taking to load, this headline only navigation won't help.
-"start a new thread" is confusing. what was so wrong with the word "comment"? what about "new comment"?
-speaking of comments: no comment notification? will i have to check my profile page at every visit now?
@coffee and cigarettes: ugh. tell me about it. it stings even worse knowing you got suckered into all this by a bunch of white-haired librarians who promised to retire soon because the internets was starting to scare them.
