"@winner: I'd bet that's because womens' feet, like everything else on them, are supposed to be small as possible. (That is, in part, where the Chinese foot-binding tradition comes from, and why Scarlett O'Hara rejoiced at the tininess of her feet and ankles.) Instead, the criticism levied at a woman whose feet seem "dis"proportionately small is that everything else is too big."
