for you, it's just the neighborhood boite; for foodies, it's heaven. my husb is from there; i have visited ... i have had the extreme pleaure of eating in the dining room; i've not visited the cafe. i have the cookbook. and, of course, i know the alice waters brand and admire her immensely. so much of what we take for granted about good food and sustainability together comes from her. i love that she is getting the powers that be in poor urban areas to work with kids to grow vegetable and fruit gardens and to serve those foods at their schools ... kids who mostly live on processed crap otherwise
