Gawker: Supporting assholes treating their customers like shit since.. whenever Gawker started. I now remember why I stopped coming here.
Too much CGI? Have you seen Iron Man? Or any movie lately, for that matter? Audiences are sick of CGI, but propelled Transformers 3 to 350m domestic. Green Lantern wasn't a good movie. CGI had nothing to do with it.
What an insufferable bitch. Way to know your audience, Gizmodo.
Bengals fans sold out that stadium for some 57 straight home games of failure. No, if anything the fans in this town should have given up years ago.
I don't know why you guys humor AT&T. AT&T just relabels their network from 3G to 4G to keep up with Big Red, and instead of calling them out on it, you just... drink their marketing kool aid. There was no technology shift. There was no upgrade. It was just poof, today we call this 4G. And you bought it hook line and sinker.
I've gotten pretty tired of the Fringe folk saying "We haven't gotten to the meat yet." So what have you been airing for 3 years? Just fluff? What we've got here are a bunch of guys who should probably just not do press, because every time they open their yum, disappointment and condescension spills out.
If you've seen either Bateman or Reynolds doing the press tour for this, then you've seen two guys who could not be less excited about their work. Anytime I saw either of them trying to promote the film, they just had this look in their eye that said "Please, please don't see this movie. Please remember that I was in Arrested Development/Van Wilder."
That might be true. But to ramble on:

Raising the Stakes: I'd say destroying the island is a pretty big stake. Particularly in context. Jacob obviously went to a lot of effort to get all these people here. In the bigger picture, Lost is a story of succession, and that through succession is redemption ("I will raise my child to be a better person than I was") so the destruction of the Island is basically the nullification of that idea.

Team Effort and Jack the Hero: I'd say there was no better episode than the last three episodes to show what Jack had learned over 6 seasons. He overcame his self-doubts and his ego at the same time. He took the mantle of protector from Jacob but understood that Hurley was the better person for the position ("the hero Gotham deserves but not the one it needs right now") which is a huge leap from the Jack of seasons 1-4, where he started as the reluctant leader to assuming the role of castaway dictator, manipulating the other Losties as much as he was the Others. The finale showed Jack had really taken his father's advice: "Learn to let go, Jack." And as for team effort, the ability of the remaining Losties to overcome their personal issues allowed them all to escape the Island together.

And for fantasy... I seem to recall a lot of hemming and hawing over the idea that all these people created a "purgatory" for themselves, even if it was riddled with plot holes.
Clip shows are pretty common on genre shows. Stargate SG1 and Atlantis had a clipshow at least once a year. The X-Files series finale is a clip show.
Aside from #1, all these things happened. Did you see a different finale than the rest of us?
I'd say overthrowing his receivers by 10 yards for two years is intentionally screwing things up. Palmer never got his knee injury out of his head. Good riddance to him.
Sorry, 3D movies are a scam. I'll never be interested in seeing a 3D movie, particularly when it's been marketed as being 3D. This is just the next step in the Michael Bay-ification of movies, where it's more important how you see it then what it is you're actually seeing.

If 3D really improves the quality of a movie, then it must have been a pretty shitty movie to start with for the visual effects to raise the bar.
After his statements here: [www.slashfilm.com]

I'll never see another film with "Ridley Scott" in the credits.
Ah, fuck the players. "We want to play football!" "Ok, here." "We don't want to play football THIS QUICKLY." Don't want to play football for millions of dollars? Get another job. Fucking entitled whiners.
It came out in 1997. The Wii version was an abomination, and not worth a second glance.
My HOA has a board made up of homeowners and the actual administrators of the HOA. We have this weird process where homeowners choose which among them will be on the board, and then the board has the power to make rule changes. The process sounds familiar, I'm not sure if they do it anywhere else in the world.
Well then there's probably a process for changing HOA regulations. Maybe Ol' Man Quigley should try to do that first instead of just FUCK THE MAN, MAAAAAAAN and slapping a flag up.
So what you're saying is "Hey, all you hackers out there, could you please stop breaking into the incredibly unprotected services that I give my information to? I'd like to continue giving all my personal information to these previously mentioned unprotected services without your interference." ? Maybe what you should say instead is "Hey Sony, do you mind spending a couple of days and maybe some of the billions of dollars you make a year and PROTECT THE FUCKING DATA I GIVE YOU? That would be greaaaaat, thanks."

I didn't ask you to feel thankful, I asked you to think about why you still use these services that don't give a fuck about the security of your data. That's just stupid. Imagine walking into your bank, and all of your money in the bank is just sitting on a table in the middle of the lobby. Some guy walks in, sees the money, takes it. The bank shuts down for a month to figure out how such a thing could happened. When the bank reopens, they leave your money on the table, but they put a velvet rope in a perimeter around the table.

You just yelled to the robber "Hey, do you mind not robbing my bank? It's really inconvenient for me" all the while letting your bank continue to implement lackadaisical security.
So you would prefer living in your blissful ignorance that the services you use and willingly give your personal information to are no less secure than the nearest man on the street with a bullhorn? Because frankly they're right - if they weren't hacking PSN or Bethesda or whoever the target du jour is, someone else would be.
