Wow, I really want to commend these students for putting themselves out there on this. First, these young People of Color are (once again) taking on the burden of explaining why this is not cool. Second, it is amazing that this message continues to be necessary. And third, there is a special kind of backlash that you only get when you try to interfere with what a lot of people consider a "free pass" to not have to think about racism- e.g. Halloween costumes and sports mascots.
This just makes me want to spend more of the money I don't have at J. Crew.
I look forward to seeing Mr. Neale on the next season of Skins, in that shirt.
This was such a nightmare, and both cities and the county are still paying out settlements for all the baseless arrests, and unnecessary roughness. Most of the National Lawyers' Guild legal observers I know were pepper-sprayed in the face just for observing and taking notes about other peoples' arrests.
Nevermind- I'm bad at the internet. Let's pretend this thread is a petition. #crosstalk
If Brian Moylan were to do a one-off Project Runway recap in honor of Olivia Palermo's guest-judging, it would make my year. #crosstalk
Me too! Actually, I started watching it when I was already out of their target audience range. I had never seen nor heard of the original when Bitch Magazine alerted me to the feminist glory that is Degrassi: TNG. (Paige's date rape story arc preceded the SlutWalk movement by about a decade).
Maybe they got an anonymous tip from a professor in the Chinese Language department, angry about Firefly's not at all hypothetical butchering of the language.
I am glad they listed Adam from Degrassi: TNG (and correctly listed him as straight). They left out a lot of reoccurring Degrassi characters, though (Marcus, Paige, etc). And all of the current cast should be listed as leads, not supporting cast members. In conclusion, I love Degrassi, the long reigning champion of LGBT characters on television.
I can't wait to hear how Michelle Bachmann weaves this into a conspiracy theory.
It seems like a lot of work, but tongs and a stock pot of boiling water could maybe do the trick.
Now that's what I call "thinking with your mustache!"
I think a lot of those people already thought it was a thing and that the election would finally prove it. Now they get so mad because they thought they would never have to talk about racism again.
Perhaps, or maybe just Post Racial. (Same thing?)
