I think the Amish comparison is creepy as hell. The Amish are now pretty highly visible and therefore viewed as harmless. So... when the FLDS become highly visible, they will be harmless. They should NOT be visible OR considered harmless because they are NOT.

I'm a little fascinated by WWII. I go through phases of being obsessed with the Nazis. They were just SO ridiculous (also: closeted) that it's kind of hard no to be really intrigued if you're a history nerd like me. So... I'm a little sympathetic to this guy. Also, the woman I know who worked for Human Rights' Watch was the MOST virulently anti-Israeli person I know, and she was Jewish. Being anti-Israeli has nothing to do with being anti-Semitic.
