I find it hilarious that their two small "updates" completely eliminate the thesis of the post, and yet they keep it up. I find it not hilarious they actually posted and highlighted the schedule of Obama's youngest child's soccer team - sure, with some light digging it would be available but seems irresponsible to just outright post it.
@Atilla the Bun: In this economy, if you have a job and your kids are in schools are you really going to just up and move? If you're making 25K I doubt your employment will just transfer you to a branch office...
@ParahSalin: I give Graham props for one thing (and only one), that he didn't feel the need to get married and reproduce to ensure he fit the 'family values' politician mold. Frankly, for an old repub politic that's as "out" as one gets really. Oh what, you want him to stop voting anti-gay? hah.
@justsomeotherguy: So, "sarcasm" is a rhetorical device used to make an obvious point by stating the opposite. But I'm so glad you took the time to completely miss the point of my post. Oh look! Sarcasm!
The point was that just because she is a large woman and obese, she should still be welcome to participate in her career, attend award shows, and receive praise, without that praise being some sort of promotion/validation of her weight. She is a person independent from her weight issues.
@marciax3: well, obviously, she should take a hiatus from acting and bunker down in a dark cave somewhere doing nothing but working out and eating lettuce until she's a healthy 100 pounds.
@ladyofargonne: a) for shame! accusing gawker of liberalsism! b) duh c) of course there can be something heroic about throwing a shoe, it just depends on the shoe.
@pumpkinsoup: disagree. Vonn crashed - that's part of the sport. Mancuso's run was messed up because the Olympic planners thought having two skiers going at the same time was a good idea on a crappy, foggy day - that's NOT part of the sport. It was bad planning and Mancuso's chances blown because of it.
@TheExperience: Don't. Turn on the news (aka not fox) and listen how there's Americans, marines and local 5-ohs, along with those from other countries, who are already there helping out. Plus, all the young americans who made the effort to donate today. There will always be the crazies/close minded asses - but if I've learned anything from Obama's first year it's that focussing on the large amount of positive, instead of the negative (aka repubs) will make you a) happier, b) help make Rush and Co. irrelevant and c) a more productive liberal citizen.
