Hi Sarah -- Thanks for the good thoughts. Its going to be a pretty grim week. The funeral is Saturday and its going to be massive. He was a cardiologist, but my local MD because we had known him so long -- me and about a thousand other people who trusted him implicitly. Hector was the kind of doctor who works 18 hours a day in 5 different offices, and some of us (myself included) are angry as well as sad because what the hell was he thinking, flying a plane at midnight -- in the rain no less? Paging the God of hubris...

I grew up on East 51st Street, in a house on the very site where the crane that collapsed was. I'm thinking it's the work of my mom's ghost (she hated high-rises). Freaky to look at all those photos and see such familiar places.
