In some settings, it is as though you have entombed this quirky choice to a style guide, or perhaps a heavy hand, as your writers embrace it. richard, of course, is first example, and coming as he did on the money side, probably left him fond for your primary objective, pageviews, etc.

Is it a British pattern, these long sentences, filled with commas, pausing to delay us our subjective gratification, or just the work of an editorial overlord?

That reporters cameraman was a pussy. When John Mattes got attacked, his cameraman kept rolling like a champ. That footage was worth much more than a reporters safety.

And was no one paying attention when Emily and Josh posted their vanity shots? It's OK to beg for more bikini shots but not OK to give it back the wrong way?
