But you're talking about a girl who has strong sociopathic traits, if she isn't a full blown sociopath already. There really isn't a way to rectify that. I'm sorry for her upbringing - it's a horrible story - but once you tip the scales in becoming a danger to others, my attention/effort shifts to protecting others from you (not you, Miss Understood, but the hypothetical you...). Sorry to say it, but I'm in favor of a lengthy sentence for her.
I grew up as a neighbor of his. I haven't been back there in about 15+ years, but heard he'd stopped doing it (although I hope not). As I remember, he was one of the first people to go completely batshit with decorations like this. The fact that he was an Iranian Elvis impersonator just made it that much more perfect.
Weird! I have been lobbying for years to have a cannon mounted on the hood of my car and loudspeaker mounted to the roof. I think my colorful pointers would make Brooklyn drivers better behind the wheel.
AMEN!!! I have been hit by bicyclists who then give me the finger (even though I had the right of way). I've seen them ride on the sidewalk when I'm walking my dog and end up nearly hitting both of us. After all of the bullshit to get bike lanes in the city, they should use them. If there's no lane, then fair game, but this guy is a complete tool. And the cop was correct to give him a ticket.
Remember that scene in Boogie Nights where Dirk Diggler and co. are all drug addled and completely deluded that they have musical talent? The part where he croaks "you've got the touch" but it's completely awful and cacophonous? This is pretty close to that.
Not very well at all, but enough (like all of us) to have tremendous respect for him. If you haven't seen the film, it's awestriking and one of the best I've seen.
I couldn't be more thrilled that Restrepo is nominated. I usually don't get all bunched up about the Oscars, but I genuinely hope it wins. Brilliant film, Junger and Hetherington put their lives on the line to make (quite literally). It managed to capture the experience and the soldiers beautifully without offering any comment/opinion on the war itself. Very hard to do, indeed.
@snacktastic: Same boat here. Love it when I'm in the routine of going to the gym and starting to get results, but completely *hate* starting that routine and getting the endurance and stamina back up. It's freaking awful. I need a gym buddy...or someone willing to shoot at my feet when I don't feel like going to the gym.
