This is a pretty bad article - none of this information is at all new. #3 & #7 actually tell you to buy it - which completely contradicts the title of the article.
I think we're all reading into this a bit to much. The bottom line is simple. Hiding your SSID does not make your network any more secure, but it does stop people that DON'T know what they're doing from stealing your bandwidth. i.e. It will stop the not-so-tech-savvy people from getting 'free internet'.
I subscribe to the 'Upcoming' RSS feed. It is useful but they post promotions for greedy ticket brokers on there... not cool trying to make them look legit.
There are 3 issues:
1) This option is not offered in most TVs.
2) The cable companies have not even settled on a standard for this yet.... typical feet dragging.
3) Cable companies don't promote these b/c they don't see immediate profitability.
OK, if you have to download software to see this animated scene... then why not just go to a porn website? And doesn't America realize how much free porn there? And if you let your kids buy a game about stealing cars, why the hell would you care about a sex scene????
Lifehacker is really running out of quality content. This is about the dumbest post I've ever seen on here. Tricks? WTF.
Um, just pick songs you like... how friggin hard is that?
Wow... you guys are running out of material. What not to eat in a car??? This is really the most useless post I've ever read on this site and an insult to the readers' intelligence.
