This is another case of the NYT being WAY behind... and you guys, too. In-store TV advertising has been around for at least a decade.

That "publish to streams" thing exists for all settings... took me a while to find it, but should help prevent your activity from showing up on your wall.

AR is great if at first you have a strong creative idea that is best expressed through AR. Otherwise, you're just using some fancy technology for the sake of, and consumers will quickly tire of holding up their magazine to a webcam. #esquire
Where Kimball goes wrong is his assumption that a lack of readership killed the magazine. This is completely false. Advertisers stopped buying pages because their own budgets were slashed. Whether Gourmet had a good internet strategy or not is neither here nor there - without the advertisers, none of these publications can make money.
